Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

Explore - Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is the largest state park in California, working to protect over 640,000 acres of scenic desert habitat. A part of the Colorado Desert, hot summers and little rain year-round make this one of the harshest habitats to live in.

Still, many flora and fauna thrive here. From the bighorn sheep to the pup fish and all the fascinating creatures in between, the desert is an extremely biodiverse ecosystem. Some species are easy to spot, while others are expertly camouflaged.

If you look even closer, you might be able to find evidence of life dating back over 10 million years!
