Meet the PORTS Interpreters for the featured passPORTS Parks!

Alec Knapp

Alec Knapp is one of the newest members of the PORTS Team at Columbia State Historic Park near Sacramento.  He's done a great job creating new asynchronous resources for students and teachers to explore! 

Ian Bernstein

Ian is our PORTS Interpreter at Chino Hills State Park is located on the Western edge of the Inland Empire, just outside of Los AngelesIan focuses his work on the natural and historic resources of the park!

Alex Anderson

Alex is our PORTS Interpreter at Crystal Cove State Park between Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach.  Alex focuses her work on sharing the wonders of Crystal Cove's Marine Protected Area! 

Maiya Rainer

Our North Coast Redwoods Parks are working directly with the Humboldt County Office of Education to provide in-person field trips in the 2021-2022 school year!

Kat Gabrielson

Kat's love for MacKerricher State Park and sharing it's unique natural and cultural resources with the public is un-matched!  Don't be surprised if you see her sporting her Harbor Seal costume! 

Steve Jahelka

Steve Jahelka is a fireball of interpretation who brings his passion for Hendy Woods and it's unique redwood ecosystem to life!  During your field trip with Steve, you're likely to have some belly laughs and teachable moments! 

Parker Grand

Parker is a passionate and knowledgeable interpreter from the Channel Coast of California.  Having spent years working at La Purisima Mission, Parker is excited to bring interdisciplinary learning to Refugio State Beach!
