The California State Parks PORTS program operates at over 50 Califronia State Parks statewide. Blended-access opportunities are available where both guided virtual and in-person field trips are available. See below to explore our features passPORTS parks! Meet the PORTS Interpreters for the featured passPORTS Parks!

Lydia Stinson

Lydia is a longstanding PORTS interpreter from Anza Borrego Desert State Park. She can take your students throughout a number of parks including Anza Borrego, Cuyamaca Rancho, Ocotillo Wells, and Palomar Mountain!

Heidi Ortloff

Heidi Ortloff is our interpreter at Carpinteria State Beach and is passionate about sharing the mysteries of the local tar pits, tide pools and natural beauty of Carpinteria State Beach!

Alec Knapp

Alec Knapp is one of the newest members of the PORTS Team at Columbia State Historic Park near Sacramento. He's done a great job creating new asynchronous resources for students and teachers to explore!

Ian Bernstein

Alex is our PORTS Interpreter at Chino Hills State Park is located on the Western edge of the Inland Empire, just outside of Los Angeles. Ian focuses his work on the natural and historic resources of the park

Alex Anderson

Alex is our PORTS Interpreter at Crystal Cove State Park between Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach. Alex focuses her work on sharing the wonders of Crystal Cove's Marine Protected Area!

North Coast Redwoods!

Our North Coast Redwoods Parks are working directly with the Humboldt County Office of Education to provide in-person field trips in the 2021-2022 school year!

Ann Boggess

Steve Jahelka is a fireball of interpretation who brings his passion for Hendy Woods and it's unique redwood ecosystem to life! During your field trip with Steve, you're likely to have some belly laughs and teachable moments!

Parker Grand

Parker is a passionate and knowledgeable interpreter from the Channel Coast of California. Having spent years working at La Purisima Mission, Parker is excited to bring interdisciplinary learning to Refugio State Beach!
